Lead Agile Business Analyst

We have an immediate need for a DPO supporting our Payment Automation area. We're looking for candidates with mobile native and payment automation/digital wallet experience who can hit the ground running — preferably with strong technical skills (API, Kafka, etc.).

Additional requirements:

  • Payments domain knowledge:
    Experience across core payment types, including ACH, card, and bill pay.
  • Agile delivery experience:
    Working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and SAFe frameworks.
  • Technical fluency:
    Practical understanding of concepts such as APIs, Kafka topics, and mobile vs. web channels.
    Deep engineering expertise is not required, but this capability is a strong differentiator.
  • Adaptability and change readiness:
    Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift during a sprint or PI, within governance boundaries.
  • Translation and communication strength:
    Able to translate technical discussions into clear business language and align stakeholders quickly.
  • Learning agility:
    Demonstrated ability to ramp up fast in new domains and adapt to organization-specific processes and nuances.

Please find the requirements

1. Supports and/or lead scrum team as a DPO in payment automation space
2. Works with business and Subject Matter Experts to understand business strategy and vision and then writes, refines, accepts and prioritizes stories and/or features to support effective and compliant solutions while balancing investment and business value.
3. Owns and maintains a prioritized work backlog for one or more Agile teams. Product backlog includes complete user stories with acceptance criteria so that they are consumable and testable by the Agile team or program. Reviews and accepts output of I/T and/or business development to ensure specified acceptance criteria have been completed.
4. Serves as direct representative of the business with one or more delivery teams, representing the customers' perspective throughout the product delivery cycle.
5. Participates in a cross-functional team of user experience partners, designers, business analysts, developers, testers and others to develop, execute and release in alignment with program and/or product road maps.
6. Demonstrates proficient knowledge in multiple business or system domains and capable of contributing to agile team at the project level.

 

Required
1. Experience working in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
2. 4+ years experience as the primary Product Owner or Product Manager for at least one IT development team
3. 4+ years experience working in the IT delivery space (as a developer, scrum master, product owner, etc.)
4. Experience working on IT projects/efforts related to billing and/or payments

Preferred
1. Prior USAA experience, especially in Bank, CFO, or Payment Automation.
2. Experience managing multiple teams as a Product Owner.
3. SAFe certifications (e.g., POPM).

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage business analysis activities within the organization
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements
3. Develop detailed project documentation including user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria
4. Work closely with the development team to ensure that business requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions
5. Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and the project team
6. Conduct workshops, meetings, and presentations to gather requirements and provide project updates
7. Utilize agile methodologies to support project delivery and ensure alignment with business goals
8. Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices in business analysis

Skill Requirements

1. Strong understanding of business analysis principles and practices
2. Proficiency in agile methodology and experience working in agile environments
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels
4. Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast paced environment
5. Analytical mindset with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
6. Proven track record of delivering successful projects through effective business analysis
7. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
8. Certification in business analysis or agile methodology is a plus
